LYNCHBURG — The Harrisonburg High School girls’ basketball team had its chances but couldn’t get out of its own way. Despite leading for a large chunk of the first half, the Blue Streaks killed themselves with too many fouls and sent Heritage to the free-throw line 40 times.

HARRISONBURG — James Madison assistant football coach Maurice Linguist is moving to Division I-A. The I-AA Dukes’ safeties coach the past three seasons was named Buffalo’s secondary coach Tuesday. The Bulls went 3-9 last season.
